Conservation medicine has emerged as a new interdisciplinary field to address the complex challenges of health and ecological issues. It represents an approach that bridges multiple disciplines and integration of knowledge among disciplines. Conceptually, conservation medicine is the connection of the fields of human health, animal health and ecosystem health, which is also being known as One Health. ASCM takes the responsibility to bring the awareness of the importance of One Health or conservation medicine to the local community each year during the annual meeting. The One Health Educational Workshop is held with the strong support from Federation of Asian Veterinary Associations (FAVA) since 2014. We are hoping that it will bring up more concern particularly, in the Asian region. This year, we invited Dr. Tony Sainsbury from Zoological Society of London (ZSL) to talk about his career and work related to conservation medicine. The workshop is designated for the local veterinarians, students and veterinary school members.
